Choosing a skip
What skip bin size should I choose?
There are a few things to consider when choosing a skip bin
Type of waste
Make sure you’re familiar with what can go in a skip bin before you start loading
Weight and size
Start by thinking about the biggest items you’re discarding and work your way from there.
Bin placement
Are you putting it in your driveway? On the road? The footpath? Is there enough space to fit a truck?
Waste quantity
Many people underestimate the amount of waste they have, so you may find it’s better to go up a size, rather than having to order a second bin later
Permits
If you plan on placing it on the street or footpath, you may need a council permit.
Marrel skip bins
Marrel bins have the capacity to hold light and heavy materials. A marrel is ideal for households as they are generally smaller and can easily be placed on a driveway. Compared to a hook bin, marrels can fit in tighter spaces like driveways and where space is restricted. Some marrel bins come with a side barrow door, so it is easier to load your bulky waste.
Hook skip bins
Hook bins are larger bins that are generally suited for a high volume of light waste. A hook bin is ideal for large trade and DIY projects. All hook bins have a back tailgate door for easy loading.
Commercial Waste Bins
Site or wheelie bins are used for portable or lightweight materials. They are generally used by builders and on large-scale construction sites.
